Who We Are
These Genes Foundation was founded by the late Tosyn Bucknor, primarily to empower and support persons born and living with the Sickle Cell Genes. Tosyn was a vibrant, passionate soul who courageously battled Sickle Cell disease, and who, through These Genes Foundation dedicated her life to encouraging persons who were challenged by the Sickle Cell condition.
These Genes Foundation was established to:
Provide Financial Relief by offering financial support to parents of children living with Sickle Cell as well as buying the essential medications required by indigent patients who have been hospitalized by reason of complications or otherwise resulting from the Sickle Cell disease.
Empower Through Education by supporting educational initiatives to raise awareness, knowledge and understanding of Sickle Cell disease and the complications that can arise therefrom.
Tosyn’s legacy through These Genes Foundation, lives on through her sister, Mrs. Funke Bucknor-Obruthe, who is the renowned event expert and founder of international events company, Zapphaire Events.
